A Jeddah dabab for moving a bedroom, a majlis, appliances or one piece, with wrapping, strapping and dismantling on request. One piece within the district from SAR 45, a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110, all Jeddah districts covered.
A Jeddah furniture moving dabab is the practical answer when your things are too much for your car and too little for a full dyna truck: a bedroom, a majlis, a fridge and washer, the cartons of a small flat, or one piece you bought from a showroom. A dabab is a small pick-up with an open cargo bed. At Jeddah Dabab Express we carry, wrap, strap and unload each piece where you want it, you know the final price before loading, and you can call or WhatsApp 0544866865 at any hour.
We wrote this guide because most people call without knowing what to ask. One asks “how much does a dabab carry?” when he means whether one trip will take his bedroom; another asks the price without mentioning the fourth floor with no lift. Here you will find what a dabab really holds, how the price is built, when a dabab is right and when we will honestly tell you a wanet fits better, how we protect your furniture on the road, and how to prepare your home so the move finishes on time.
- One piece or a ride within the district from SAR 65, a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110, a north-to-south Jeddah move from SAR 185.
- A dabab takes about one room per trip; for more, we work out with you whether two dabab trips or one wanet trip is cheaper.
- Blankets, stretch film, cardboard corners and straps are part of the job on the vehicle.
- Dismantling, assembly and floors without a lift are clear lines stated before loading, never a surprise at the door.
- We cover every Jeddah district and reach Makkah, Taif and nearby cities by booking, 24 hours a day.

What is a dabab and why does it suit moving in Jeddah?
A dabab is a small pick-up with an open rear bed; pieces are loaded after wrapping and then held down with straps and ropes. The bed is roughly two to two and a half metres long and about one and a half metres wide depending on the model, and that size decides what fits in one trip: a standard mattress lies flat, a wardrobe goes in as panels, and a fridge stands in a corner with cartons around it.
The gap between a dabab and a dyna is not only size but the job itself. A dyna is built to move a whole house at once and is priced that way: more fuel, more men, more time to book and prepare. Hire one for a single room and you pay for empty space riding along with you. A dabab is priced for its load, which is why it is the first choice for a room, a few pieces or showroom purchases.
Three advantages the price does not show
What is this service and when is a dabab enough?
A dabab is enough when your load is one room or less, a few separate pieces, or when the home sits in a lane trucks cannot enter. Beyond that, the question is no longer “can the dabab do it?” but “what is cheaper for me?” The table answers the cases we see every day:
| What you are moving | Is a dabab enough? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| One piece: sofa, fridge, washer or bed | Yes, one trip | Within the district from SAR 65 |
| A standard bedroom, dismantled | Usually yes | Between neighbouring districts from SAR 110 |
| A bedroom with a large multi-section wardrobe | May need two trips | A big wardrobe alone takes half the bed |
| A majlis set with tables and rugs | Yes | Cushions fill the gaps |
| Kitchen appliances: fridge, washer, cooker plus cartons | Yes | The fridge travels upright |
| A room plus a majlis | Two dabab trips | Compare with a small or medium wanet |
| A full two-bedroom flat | About three trips | A wanet or dyna wins here |
| Twenty to twenty-five medium cartons | Yes | With two or three large pieces |
Notice that the table talks in trips, not tonnes. Weight is rarely the issue in a house move: a mattress is light but bulky, cartons are heavy but small. Space and the way the load is packed decide it, which is why we ask for a photo: from a picture we can tell within a minute whether one trip will do.
How much does a dabab really hold? Count pieces, not tonnes
In one trip a dabab holds about a standard dismantled bedroom, or a majlis set, or a fridge and washer with around twenty cartons. That is the useful answer to “how much does it carry?”, because tonnes mean nothing to someone standing in front of a wardrobe trying to picture where it will go.
Packing is what turns two trips into one. Long panels go along the side, heavy flat pieces at the bottom over the axle, the fridge upright in the front corner, and cartons and mattresses fill the spaces so nothing shifts under braking. A mover who knows the bed fits in what the owner thought impossible; a rushed one comes back for a second trip with half a load.
- A standard bedroom: bed base and headboard, a mid-size wardrobe in panels, a dresser, two bedside tables and a mattress, usually one trip.
- A large four-door wardrobe or bigger: its panels alone take half the bed, so allow a second trip for the rest of the room.
- An Arabic majlis: floor cushions, back rests and rugs go in one trip because they are soft and compress.
- A three-seat and two-seat sofa: one trip with the small tables; a large corner sofa is taken apart if possible.
- Appliances: fridge, washer and cooker together in one trip with room for kitchen cartons.

What does a dabab move in Jeddah?
A dabab moves anything that fits its bed after wrapping: home and office furniture, appliances, cartons, showroom and Haraj purchases, and stock for small shops. Each type has its own way of carrying and wrapping:
Dabab, wanet or dyna?
Pick the vehicle for your load, not for your worries: a dabab for a room or less, a wanet for two rooms or a small flat, a dyna for a whole house or villa. Choosing bigger “just in case” means paying more for nothing; choosing smaller for a full flat means losing your day to trips back and forth.
| Criterion | Dabab | Wanet | Dyna |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suitable load | A room or scattered pieces | Two rooms or a small flat | A whole house or villa |
| Narrow lanes | Excellent | Good | Difficult |
| Cost | Lowest, from SAR 65 | Small from SAR 140 · medium from SAR 230 · large from SAR 320 | Set by the load |
| Availability | Quick for most jobs | Quick | Needs advance booking |
| A single piece | Best fit | More than needed | Makes no sense |
| Errands and delivery | Best fit | Possible | Impractical |
There is a third factor people forget: time. Two dabab trips may take a full day instead of half, so if your time is costly because you took a day off or the shop stays shut until you finish, the cash difference may favour the dabab while the real difference favours the wanet. The right decision counts money and time together. The full comparison is in the dabab vs wanet vs dyna guide, and for loads larger than a dabab see wanet furniture moving in Jeddah.
How is a furniture moving dabab priced in Jeddah?
The price comes from six things: distance, load size, floors and lifts at both homes, dismantling and assembly, the type of pieces, and the number of trips. Our starting prices are clear: a piece or ride within the district from SAR 65, a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110, and a north-to-south move from SAR 185. The final price is given before the first piece is lifted.
| Type of move | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| A piece or ride within the district | from SAR 65 | Loading, transport and unloading |
| A room between neighbouring districts | from SAR 110 | Such as Al Safa to Al Marwah |
| A move from north to south Jeddah | from SAR 185 | Such as Obhur to Al Balad |
| Small wanet for a slightly bigger load | from SAR 140 | When a dabab trip is not enough |
| Medium wanet | from SAR 230 | A room with a majlis or a full studio |
| Large wanet | from SAR 320 | A flat with two small bedrooms |
| Split AC removal, transport and installation | from SAR 230 | Within Jeddah |
| Furniture dismantling and assembly | Set by the number of pieces | Ask for an itemised quote |
| Trips to Makkah, Taif and nearby cities | Set by load and destination | Ask for a trip quote |

The six factors behind the number
- Distance: the base of the price, but not alone. A short move inside Al Balad can take longer than one across half the city because of parking and traffic.
- Load size: one piece is not a room, and a room is not two rooms that may need a wanet.
- Floors and lifts: a fifth floor with no lift can double the working time and need more men, so we ask about both homes, not one.
- Dismantling and assembly: a room that needs taking apart is not the same as pieces ready to carry, and it is counted by the piece.
- Type of pieces: glass, mirrors, screens and marble need more wrapping and more time.
- Number of trips: two trips mean a double route and double time, which is why we always try to fit everything into one.
The steps of your move, from the call to handover
Every move follows seven fixed steps, starting with a message holding photos of your things and ending when the last piece sits in its place in the new home. Knowing the order puts you at ease, because you know what comes next and what is needed from you:
- Call or WhatsApp: give the from and to districts, the floor at each home, whether there is a lift, and photos of the pieces. That saves ten messages.
- Final price and time: we send the price and what it covers in one WhatsApp message and agree an arrival time.
- Arrival and a quick look: the dabab and the men arrive and check the pieces, corridors and stairs before starting.
- Dismantling and wrapping: we take apart what needs it, label it, cover pieces with blankets and film the delicate ones.
- Loading and securing: heavy at the bottom, fridge upright, TV supported, then straps and cover.
- The road: we take the best route for the time and avoid rush hour where the slot allows.
- Unloading and assembly: each piece goes into the room you choose, we reassemble what we took apart, remove the wrapping, and you check everything with us before we leave.
How do we protect your furniture on the move?
We protect furniture in three stages: wrapping before lifting, correct placing in the bed, then covering and strapping before the dabab moves. Most scratches come not from accidents but from one piece rubbing another on a turn or a corner touching the stairwell wall, so all three stages get equal care.
Before loading
Protection starts before the first piece is lifted. Glass, mirrors and screens are wrapped in bubble wrap and set between two layers of strong cardboard. Polished wood is covered with moving blankets so surfaces do not rub. Protruding corners get cardboard corner guards, because they are the first thing to hit a door frame or stair wall.
While loading
Packing the bed is not random. Heavy flat pieces go at the bottom over the axle, lighter ones on top, and gaps are filled with mattresses, cushions and cartons so the load cannot shift under braking. The fridge stands and never lies down, the TV stands supported with nothing on top, and full drawers are filmed shut.
Covering and strapping
Once packed, the whole load is covered and strapped from both sides, and this step separates a clean move from one that ends in scratches. The cover keeps out dust and wind on the highways and softens the Jeddah midday sun; the straps stop sliding over bumps and turns.
| Material or tool | Why we use it |
|---|---|
| Moving blankets | Cover wood and sofas and stop pieces rubbing |
| Stretch film | Holds doors and drawers shut and keeps dust off leather and fabric |
| Cardboard corners | Protect edges at doors and stairs |
| Bubble wrap and strong cardboard | For glass, mirrors and screens |
| Ratchet straps and ropes | Hold the load to the bed |
| Hand truck | Moves fridges, washers and heavy cartons safely |
| Dismantling tools | Screwdrivers and keys for beds and wardrobes |

If you want to prepare your own things before we arrive, the furniture packing guide explains what really needs wrapping and what does not, because wrapping everything wastes time and wrapping nothing is a needless risk.
Moving to upper floors without a lift
A move without a lift is always possible, but it changes the sums: more time, more men, and large pieces taken apart before going down. Older Jeddah buildings are common in the centre and south, and a third or fourth floor with no lift is daily work for us, so do not worry, but mention it on the first call and for both homes.
- We dismantle wardrobes and beds and carry the panels one by one instead of forcing them down a narrow stair.
- We guard stair corners and door edges with cardboard so neither walls nor pieces get marked.
- Fridges and washers go on the hand truck with at least two men, pausing at each landing.
- Emptying drawers lightens the load, and clearing shoes and clutter from the stairs keeps the men safe.
- Sometimes lowering a large piece from the balcony is faster and safer than the stairs, and we tell you if we see that.
For this case in detail read the guide to moving without a lift in Jeddah.
Dismantling and assembly: labelling makes the difference
The most common problem after a move is not a broken piece but a sound one that will not go back together, because a screw went missing or two panels got mixed. So we start dismantling with labels, not a screwdriver: every panel gets a numbered sticker and the place it fits into carries the same number, so there is no guessing at assembly.
Screws and metal brackets go into a small bag per piece marked with its number; we never pour a whole room’s screws into one bag, which would mean an hour of sorting in the new home. We photograph an unusual wardrobe before taking it apart, because the photo saves thinking when rebuilding it. Full details in furniture dismantling and assembly in Jeddah.
Ten things to prepare before the dabab arrives
Preparing the home the night before saves an hour or more on moving day, and that hour means a clearer price and a less tiring day. This list works for any district and any size of move:
- Empty drawers and wardrobes: a full piece is heavier, harder to carry and its inner shelves can break.
- Switch the fridge off hours before: so the ice melts and the water drains instead of soaking the load.
- Drain the washer: run a spin-drain cycle, detach the hoses and dry them.
- Prepare cartons and write the room on each: kitchen cartons to the kitchen, children’s to their room.
- Photograph your things and send them: a WhatsApp photo makes the price accurate first time.
- Tell us the floor and lift at both homes: not just one.
- Book the lift or tell the building guard: so you are not forced onto the stairs mid-move.
- Decide where each piece goes in the new home: this alone shortens unloading a lot.
- Keep valuables with you: documents, gold and keys in your car.
- Pack a first-night bag: clothes, toiletries, chargers and medicines, so you do not open ten cartons looking for a toothbrush.

If you are moving a full flat and want it done in a day, the hour-by-hour plan is in the guide to moving a flat in one day in Jeddah.
The best times to move furniture in Jeddah
The best time to move in Jeddah is early morning or after sunset, when roads are calmer, heat is lower and parking at the building is easier. Traffic peaks in the morning commute and the evening return, and is heaviest on King Abdulaziz Road, Tahlia Street, King Fahd Road and Madinah Road.
| Time | Rating | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dawn to 8 am | Best in summer | Mild heat, calmer roads |
| 10 am to 2 pm | Fine in winter | Peak heat in summer |
| 4 pm to 7 pm | Avoid if you can | Peak traffic |
| After sunset | Excellent | Most requested in summer |
| After midnight | Very good | Empty roads and free parking |
In Ramadan the pattern flips: before sunset the roads are at their quietest, after Taraweeh they fill up, and the hours between Isha and midnight are among the best. Details in the guide to moving in Ramadan, while summer heat and protecting leather, wood and appliances from the sun are covered in the Jeddah summer moving guide. We work 24 hours, so a night slot is a normal part of our day.
Special cases everyone asks about
These are the cases that need a set-up unlike an ordinary move, and each has a practical answer we know from the streets themselves:
Narrow entrances and lanes
In Al Balad, Al Nuzlah, Al Hindawiyah, Al Sahifah and Ghulail the streets narrow and buildings press together, and here the dabab wins because it stops at the door. Tell us in advance if the street does not allow a long stop, so we arrange for pieces to be wrapped and ready at the door and keep the stop as short as possible.
Clearing a flat before handing it back
When a tenancy ends, many people find furniture they will not take along. We move those pieces to a buyer, to the Haraj market or to storage at the normal trip price, so you hand back the flat empty and clean on time.
A small office or shop
Small offices and shops are usually moved after working hours so business does not stop. We move desks, chairs, drawer units, display shelves and counters, and label cables and boxes. Details in office and shop relocation in Jeddah.
Buying from Haraj
Jeddah’s best-known second-hand market is the Al Sawarikh Haraj in the south of the city, alongside the Haraj platform where people list their furniture. The constant problem is that the seller does not deliver. We collect from the seller and carry the piece up to your flat; before paying, measure your door and lift and send us a photo and size so we can say whether it passes as it is or needs taking apart.
Mistakes that repeat in almost every move
Most moving losses come not from accidents but from a small decision made the day before. Here are the mistakes we see most, what each costs and how to avoid it:
| Mistake | What it costs | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| Accepting a vague verbal price | An unexpected increase at the door | A final itemised price in a WhatsApp message |
| Moving a full wardrobe | Broken inner shelves and hinges | Empty it before arrival |
| A fridge not switched off in time | Water soaking the whole load | Switch it off hours before |
| A TV lying flat or under other items | A damaged screen with no visible crack | Carry it upright and wrapped |
| All the screws in one bag | An hour of sorting at assembly | One labelled bag per piece |
| No plan for where pieces go | A whole evening rearranging | A layout plan before arrival |
| Valuables in the load | Loss or damage | Carry them in your car |
Questions to ask before agreeing with any mover
Ask about the final price and what it covers before anything else, then about dismantling, wrapping, stairs and the number of men. These questions embarrass no one; a serious mover answers them without hesitation, and one who dodges them gives you the answer without meaning to:
- What is the final price, and does it change in any case?
- Does it include dismantling and assembly, or is that separate?
- Does it include carrying up and down without a lift, and to which floor?
- Does it include wrapping, and with what materials?
- How many men come with the vehicle?
- When will you arrive, and roughly how long will the move take?
- Will the load be covered and strapped, or travel open?
- Can I have the agreement in a WhatsApp message with the price and what it covers?
The last question matters most: one message with the price and its lines protects both sides and ends any dispute before it starts, and we send it ourselves before we set off. To spot a serious mover from the first call, read the guide to choosing a reliable moving dabab in Jeddah.
Where do we work? Jeddah districts and nearby cities
We cover every Jeddah district, from North Obhur and Al Shira’a in the north to Al Khomrah and Prince Fawaz in the south, and from Al Shati and the corniche in the west to Briman and Al Harazat in the east. Because Jeddah is so spread out, in large districts such as Al Safa, Al Hamdaniyah and Bani Malik we ask for a map pin rather than just the district name, since the two ends of one district can be further apart than two neighbouring districts.
Districts we work in every day include Al Salamah, Al Rawdah, Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Naseem, Al Fayha, Al Hamdaniyah, Al Shati, Al Ajaweed, Al Balad, Al Hindawiyah, Al Sharafiyah, Al Kandarah, Bani Malik, Al Zahra, Al Naeem and Al Bawadi. The full list is on Jeddah districts.

Outside Jeddah we reach nearby cities by booking, and each trip is priced by load and destination, so ask for a trip quote before the day:
| Destination | Nature of the trip | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Jeddah to Makkah | Most requested, fast highway | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Taif | A mountain stretch that takes longer | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Rabigh | A flat coastal road north | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Thuwal | North of Jeddah on the coastal road | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Khulais | A direct run on the highways | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Al Kamil | A quieter route with easy slots | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Yanbu | A long trip that needs a set date | Set by load and destination |
| Jeddah to Madinah | The longest trip, a day of its own | Set by load and destination |

Frequently asked questions
How much does a furniture moving dabab cost in Jeddah?
One piece or a ride within the district starts from SAR 65, a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110, and a north-to-south Jeddah move from SAR 185. We confirm the final price before loading once we know the pieces, floors and distance.
How much furniture fits in a dabab?
A dabab takes roughly one ordinary bedroom per trip, or a majlis set, or a fridge and washer with cartons. A two-bedroom flat needs two or three trips, and then a wanet is usually the better deal.
When should I choose a wanet instead of a dabab?
Choose a wanet when your load is more than one room, such as two rooms with a majlis or a small full flat. A small wanet starts from SAR 140, medium from SAR 230 and large from SAR 320, and it can save you a whole trip.
Does the price include dismantling and assembly?
No. Dismantling and assembly are a separate line set by the number of pieces that need it, and we state it before we start. Ask for an itemised quote to see each line.
Do you wrap the furniture before loading?
Yes. We cover pieces with moving blankets, wrap delicate surfaces in stretch film, protect corners with cardboard, then strap the load onto the dabab. Inner cartons are packed by the household or agreed in advance.
Do you move furniture to upper floors without a lift?
Yes. We carry by the stairs with enough men for the load and take large pieces apart before going down. Tell us the floor at both homes on the first call so the price is right from the start.
Can the price change after loading?
Not while the pieces, floors and distance are as you described. If extra pieces appear we tell you before continuing, never after arrival.
Can a dabab get into the narrow lanes of Al Balad and Al Hindawiyah?
Yes. Its small size lets it stop near the door in old districts such as Al Balad, Al Hindawiyah, Al Sahifah and Al Nuzlah, where a big truck cannot reach.
Do you move furniture from Jeddah to Makkah and Taif?
Yes, by prior booking. The trip price is set by load and destination, so ask for a trip quote before the day. We also reach Rabigh, Thuwal, Khulais, Al Kamil, Yanbu and Madinah.
How do I book a furniture moving dabab in Jeddah?
Call or WhatsApp 0544866865 at any hour, give the from and to districts, the floors and whether there is a lift, and send photos of the pieces. We reply with the final price and arrival time.
