Need a fridge, washing machine, split AC or TV moved within Jeddah? Jeddah Dabab Express carries appliances upright, padded and strapped, from SAR 65 a piece inside your district and from SAR 230 for a split AC removed, moved and refitted.
Moving household appliances in Jeddah has rules that people who treat a fridge like a sofa never learn. At Jeddah Dabab Express we carry fridges upright, washers with the drum secured, screens in their covers, and we arrange split ACs with a technician who removes and refits them. A single piece inside your district starts from SAR 45. Call 0544866865 at any hour with the appliance, district and floor, and we give the final price before loading. (A dabab is a small pickup truck with an open rear bed, popular in Jeddah for exactly this kind of job.)
An appliance differs from the rest of your furniture in one way: it can look perfect outside and be damaged inside. A knock on the back of a fridge, a long tilt of a washer or pressure on a screen does not show until you switch the machine on in your new home. That is why we work to a fixed method of carrying, covering and strapping, and explain each step instead of asking you to simply trust us.
- A fridge, washer or TV within the district: from SAR 65.
- A split AC removed, moved and refitted by a technician: from SAR 230.
- Fridges always travel upright; TVs travel upright in their cover or original box.
- Gas is disconnected from cookers and water from washers before loading.
- If a load is bigger than a dabab, we tell you honestly and suggest a wanet.

What this service is and when it suits you
Moving appliances is a service in its own right, even though it often comes together with a general furniture move. It suits you when you have one or two appliances for a newly married son’s flat, when you bought a fridge from a showroom that does not deliver, or when you are moving to a new flat and want the appliances to arrive intact before the furniture. The dabab, with its open flat rear bed, is well suited to the job: the floor takes a fridge standing up and lets us strap it from every side.
We should be honest about limits. A dabab is a small vehicle. A small or medium fridge, a washer, a TV and a split AC all fit comfortably, but a big double-door fridge plus a washer, cooker and dishwasher in a single trip needs a wanet. We say so on the first call so there are no surprises on the day, and we will suggest two dabab trips if that works out cheaper for you.
| What you are moving | Does a dabab do it? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Small or medium fridge | Yes | Upright and strapped |
| Large double-door fridge | Depends on size | We check height and width with you first |
| Automatic washing machine | Yes | Drum secured, water drained |
| Split AC | Yes | Removal and refit by a technician |
| TV up to a medium size | Yes | Upright in cover or box |
| Cooker or oven | Yes | Gas disconnected first |
| A whole flat of appliances plus furniture | Usually not | A wanet or more than one trip |
The final call depends on the real dimensions, so send us a photo or the measurements.
How we move each appliance
Each appliance has its own nature, which is why an experienced driver handles every one differently. Here is what we actually do, and what we ask of you before we arrive.
Fridges and freezers
Our first rule is that a fridge stays on its base for the whole trip. We start with it emptied, glass shelves removed or taped, and switched off well before the appointment so it defrosts and dries. We then secure the doors with straps so they cannot swing open on bumps, cover the fridge with two blankets and strap it front and back with a wide belt. Switching it on after arrival should follow the manufacturer’s instructions, which set the waiting time for each model.
Washing machines
A washer holds trapped water and a heavy drum hung on springs, and both cause damage if ignored. We drain the hoses, secure the drum with the transit bolts if you still have them and in line with the maker’s guidance, wrap the machine in a blanket or bubble wrap and carry it on an appliance dolly rather than dragging it. That protects both the tiles and the machine, and makes climbing to upper floors lighter and safer.

Split air conditioners
A split AC is not simply lifted and carried. It has an indoor unit, an outdoor unit, copper pipes and refrigerant, so a qualified technician removes it, handles the gas properly, protects the pipes from bending, and refits it at the new place. Removal, moving and refitting inside Jeddah is from SAR 230. We carry both units upright, protect the outdoor unit from knocks and cover the fan and pipework against scratches.
Screens and televisions
Screen glass tolerates standing but not lying under pressure. The original box is the best way to move a TV. If you no longer have it, we wrap the screen in thick blankets, put cardboard corners on the edges and fix it upright beside the divider, away from any sharp edge. Nothing is ever placed on top of it, however light.

Cookers, ovens and small appliances
Cookers and ovens need the gas disconnected before any movement, which is a specialist’s job rather than ours. We carry the appliance once it is disconnected, secure the glass door and cover the top. Water coolers, microwaves, vacuum cleaners and small dishwashers are wrapped and secured with the rest of the load between blankets, heaviest at the bottom and lightest above.
| Appliance | How we move it | Specific precaution |
|---|---|---|
| Fridge | Upright, doors secured, two blankets, two straps | Switch off before the date; wait before restarting per the maker |
| Washer | Hoses drained, drum secured, appliance dolly | Transit bolts from the maker if you have them |
| Split AC | Technician removal, two units upright, pipes covered | Done by a qualified technician, not the movers |
| TV | Upright in box or blankets | Nothing on top, never leaned on an edge |
| Cooker and oven | After gas disconnection, door secured | Gas disconnected and reconnected by a specialist |
| Water cooler | Upright after the tank is emptied | Wait before restarting per the maker |
| Microwave and vacuum | Between blankets on top of the load | Wrap the glass plate separately |
The steps, from your call to refitting
- Call and list the appliances: tell us the types, rough sizes, district and floor. A photo on WhatsApp is best, so we choose the right vehicle.
- Price and time: we give you the final price and agree a slot, and if an AC or gas technician is coming we match both appointments.
- Getting the appliance ready: we remind you to empty and switch off the fridge, drain the washer, and collect remotes and cables in a bag.
- Check on arrival: we look the appliance over outside and note any earlier marks, so both sides are clear.
- Covering and strapping: blankets, stretch film and cardboard corners, then straps fixing the appliance to the bed from several sides.
- Carrying up the stairs or by lift: with a dolly and steady hands, and we agree the method beforehand when the floor is high.
- Placing it in the new home: we set the appliance where you want it, leaving pipework and connections to the specialist where needed.
- A final check before leaving: you confirm with us that the appliance looks sound, then we hand it over.
Packing, equipment and upper floors
Our kit is thick blankets, stretch film, cardboard corners, wide buckle straps, an appliance dolly with rubber wheels and spare ropes. They look simple, but what separates an appliance that arrives spotless from one that arrives dented is the order of use: blanket first, film to hold it, corners next, then the strap over everything.
Plenty of older Jeddah buildings have no lift, especially in traditional districts such as Al Balad, Al Safa and Al Marwah. There things change. We wheel the appliance to the foot of the stairs, then two movers take turns lifting it with a shoulder strap to ease the load, pausing at each landing. It takes longer, which is why the floor is quoted before loading and never appears as an extra on arrival.
What appliance moving costs
The price follows the size of the appliance, the distance and the floor, not just the appliance’s name. These are starting prices from our list, and we state the final one before the dabab leaves. More detail is on our Jeddah dabab prices page.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| One appliance within the district (fridge, washer, TV) | from SAR 65 |
| A room’s or small kitchen’s appliances between neighbouring districts | from SAR 110 |
| An appliance move from north to south Jeddah | from SAR 185 |
| Split AC removed, moved and refitted | from SAR 230 |
| A wanet for many appliances (small / medium / large) | from SAR 140 · from SAR 230 · from SAR 320 |
| Dismantling and assembly of accompanying furniture | Set by pieces; ask for an itemised quote |
| Appliances to Makkah and Taif | Set by load and destination |
What raises the price is a high floor with no lift, a very heavy appliance, a long distance between districts and two trips instead of one. What lowers it is combining appliances into one trip, preparing them before we arrive and picking a flexible date away from month-end. We never advise saving by skipping the cover, because a scratch on a screen costs more than any small saving.
Tips and common mistakes
If you bought the appliance from a market or an ad, test it running in front of you before paying, as covered in moving furniture from Jeddah Haraj, and we move it the same way afterwards. If furniture goes with it, furniture transport in Jeddah completes the picture.
How to choose the right service
Ask yourself how many appliances you have first: one or two suit a dabab, while more than three big ones call for a wanet. Then ask about the floor and lift, then whether you need an AC or gas technician. And put these questions to anyone you hire, before booking:
- Will the fridge travel upright, and how is it secured?
- Does the price include carrying up to my floor, or is it added later?
- Who removes and refits the AC, and is it a qualified technician?
- How is the screen covered, and does it travel upright?
- Is the price final before loading?
If you also need bedroom furniture dismantled alongside appliances, furniture dismantling and assembly in Jeddah explains how we number the pieces. For traders moving display or stock appliances we suggest moving shop goods in Jeddah.
Coverage inside and outside Jeddah
We reach every district of Jeddah, from Obhur, Al Shati and Al Rawdah in the north to Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Naseem, Al Balad and Al Hamdaniyah. A dabab fits the narrow lanes of older districts that large trucks cannot enter, so it stops near the building door and spares you carrying an appliance a long way. Browse the Jeddah districts to find yours. To Makkah and Taif and nearby cities we go with advance booking: Jeddah to Makkah dabab and Jeddah to Taif dabab, priced by load, and we send an itemised quote.

Frequently asked questions
Does the dabab carry a fridge upright?
Yes. A fridge travels upright in the dabab bed with its doors secured and strapped from several sides, which is the best position for it. If a fridge is bigger than the bed, we tell you plainly and suggest a wanet.
How long should I wait before switching a fridge on after moving it?
Follow the manufacturer’s guidance in the manual or on the label. A fridge moved upright needs less waiting than one that tilted, and we always tell you how yours travelled.
Do you remove and refit a split AC?
Yes. Removing, moving and refitting a split AC starts from SAR 230 inside Jeddah, handled by a qualified technician who deals with the refrigerant and connections, not by the movers.
How do you move a washing machine without damage?
We drain the hoses, secure the drum following the maker’s instructions where it has transit bolts, pad the machine and carry it on an appliance dolly, strapped firmly.
Should I move the TV in its original box?
The original box is best if you kept it. If not, we wrap the screen in blankets and fix it upright in the dabab. A screen should never travel flat under other loads.
Do your movers disconnect the gas cylinder from a cooker?
Disconnecting and reconnecting gas is a job for a specialist, not something to improvise. We move the cooker once it is disconnected and place it once the technician has prepared the connection.
How much does moving one appliance in Jeddah cost?
One piece within the district starts from SAR 45, and a room-sized load between neighbouring districts starts from SAR 110. The final price is agreed before loading.
Can you carry appliances up from a high floor with no lift?
Yes, with movers, a dolly and dedicated straps for the stairs. The floor is stated in the price because climbing takes extra time and effort.
Can you move an appliance I bought from a classified ad?
Yes, from the seller’s home to yours. We advise you to see it running before you pay, then we load and cover it like any other appliance.
Do you move appliances to Makkah and Taif?
Yes, with advance booking, priced by load and destination. Ask for an itemised quote before the date.
