Home furniture transport by dabab inside Jeddah: bedrooms, wardrobes, sofas, dining sets and desks, each wrapped for its type and strapped down. We reach narrow lanes and upper floors, and agree the price before loading.
Dabab furniture transport in Jeddah with Jeddah Dabab Express means your furniture arrives as it left your old home: wrapped, strapped down and set in the right place. A dabab is a compact pickup truck with an open rear bed, nimble in Jeddah traffic and able to enter lanes larger trucks cannot. Call or message us on 0544866865 at any hour with your district, a list of pieces and the floor, and we reply with the final price and time before the dabab sets off.
In Jeddah we know a small move can be more stressful than a big one, because furniture matters to its owner however simple it is. So each piece is handled to suit its material and shape: a sofa is not treated like a wardrobe, and a marble top is nothing like a dining chair.
- One piece within a district from SAR 65; a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110.
- Blankets, stretch film and cardboard corners, then straps inside the bed.
- Wardrobes and beds that will not pass the door are dismantled, numbered and rebuilt at the new home.
- We reach narrow lanes and upper floors without a lift, and tell you honestly if your load is bigger than a dabab.
- Final price before loading, with trips to Makkah and Taif booked in advance.

What furniture transport by dabab is, and when it suits you
The dabab suits anyone moving one room or two, collecting new pieces from a showroom, or shifting from one small flat to another. It is quick, it fits tight streets, and it keeps the cost sensible.
It also has a limit that we will not pretend away. If your home has three bedrooms, a big majlis and a dining table for eight, a large wanet or a dyna is the right vehicle, and overfilling a dabab only puts your furniture at risk. We tell you this on the first call and save you two pointless trips.
| What you are moving | Does a dabab do it? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| One or two pieces (sofa, wardrobe, bed) | Yes | The quickest, cheapest option, from SAR 65 within a district |
| A full bedroom | Usually | After dismantling the big wardrobe and wooden bed |
| A bedroom plus a small majlis | Yes with a tidy load, or two trips | We advise once we know the sizes |
| A two-bedroom flat | A medium wanet is better | Saves repeated trips |
| A large flat or villa | No | We point you to the right vehicle |
Furniture types and how each one is handled
Furniture is not one category, and every type has a weak spot. Wood scratches with friction, fabric picks up dust, glass hates vibration, and flat-pack boards come apart at their joints if carried at an angle. So we identify the risk first, then choose the wrapping.
Bedrooms
A wooden bed comes apart into its side rails, headboard and footboard, and the screws go in a sealed bag taped to the piece itself. The mattress is wrapped in nylon and carried flat or upright depending on where it sits in the bed. A dresser loses its mirror, which travels separately between blankets, and bedside tables have their drawers emptied or bound with film so they cannot slide.
Wardrobes and cabinets
A sliding-door wardrobe or a very large one rarely passes through the door in one piece, so it is dismantled and numbered. A small wardrobe stays assembled, is wrapped in blankets and has its doors held shut with film so the hinges are not strained. We empty drawers before lifting because the weight inside twists the frame.
Majlis and sofas
A sofa needs a cover against dust and rubbing on the bed, so we wrap it in a blanket and then in stretch film, never pulled hard against the fabric. Detachable legs come off where possible, and we lift from the frame rather than the arms. An Arabic majlis with its long seats goes in first, near the front of the bed, because it presses least on the rest of the load.
Dining tables and chairs
A wooden table top is protected with blankets and cardboard corners, and screwed-on legs come off and are tied together. Chairs are stacked upside down in layers of padding and strapped by their frame, never by the thin legs. Glass and marble tables are a separate story, covered below.

Desks and children furniture
A home desk is emptied, its sliding shelves are removed and the drawers travel beside it, protected. Children beds and small wardrobes are usually light but have fine joints, so we dismantle them gently and keep every screw in one bag marked with the room name, so nothing goes missing and the piece comes back safe for your little ones.
Marble and glass
These are the most delicate pieces. A marble top is heavy and brittle at the edges, and glass can crack from small vibrations. We wrap them in layers of cardboard and blankets, carry them upright on their edge rather than flat, rest them against the side of the bed with moderately tight straps, and put nothing on top, however light. Mention these pieces when you book so enough hands come with us.
| Piece | Handling | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Wooden bed | Rails dismantled, each part wrapped | Screws in a numbered bag taped to the part |
| Large wardrobe | Doors and shelves removed if needed | The longest section goes first |
| Sofa or majlis | Blanket, then stretch film | Lifted by the frame, not the arms |
| Wooden dining table | Top and legs protected | Chairs stacked upside down |
| Marble or glass top | Cardboard, blankets, carried upright | Nothing placed on it |
| Desk | Drawers emptied, shelves removed | Drawers travel separately |
| Children furniture | Gentle dismantling, screws kept together | Usually moved early |
Protecting corners and legs
Most of the scratches we see in moves come from corners and legs, because they are the first things to hit door frames and railings. So we start with the corners: corrugated cardboard or foam guards held with tape that leaves no mark, then blankets on top.
- Cardboard guards on every sharp corner of wardrobes, tables and desks.
- Loose legs wrapped in film and bundled together instead of rolling around the bed.
- A blanket between every two touching pieces in the bed.
- A soft blanket on polished wood before any film, since film can mark newer paint.
- Sliding doors and drawers sealed with film so they cannot open in transit.
Loading: upright or flat?
Arranging a dabab bed is a small craft. Our rule is heavy items low and toward the front, light and fragile items high and toward the back. Wardrobes go in standing on their longer side because that is the direction of their strength, while dismantled bed parts stand against the side of the bed and are strapped to it. Mattresses go flat on top of everything or upright between pieces as a divider.
Any piece loaded at an angle without support bends a little with every bump, so we fill gaps with folded blankets and tighten the straps so nothing moves and nothing light is crushed. After the first few hundred metres of road the mover checks the straps again, because loads settle once moving and straps can slacken slightly.
Signs a piece needs dismantling before the move
- The piece is wider than the flat door or longer than the stairwell turn.
- It will not fit in the lift even held at an angle.
- It was assembled inside the room, as with large beds and four-door wardrobes.
- Its joints already move when you push it, which means carrying it assembled weakens it further.
- A wardrobe is too tall to stand upright in the bed.
If you see even one of these signs, dismantling costs less than forcing a whole piece through and damaging what is around it. Read about the service on our page for furniture dismantling and assembly in Jeddah; it is priced by the number of pieces, so ask for an itemised quote to see each price.
Floors, stairs and lifts
Many older apartment blocks in Jeddah have three floors or more with no lift, and in districts such as Al Balad, Al Hindawiyyah and Al Salamah the stairwell is narrower than most people expect. That is why we ask about the floor, the stair width and whether there is a lift when you book. These questions matter more than how many pieces you have.
We rotate long pieces to take the turns, use a hand trolley on flat ground, and use ropes where lifting through a balcony is the safe route, with blankets at corners so walls stay clean. In lifts we respect the load limit and never cram them with pieces.
The steps from first call to handover
- Call and describe: tell us the two districts, the floor and the list of pieces; photos on WhatsApp help.
- Vehicle and price confirmed: we say whether a dabab is enough or you need a wanet, and give the final price and time.
- The team arrives: on time, with blankets, film, cardboard corners, straps and a trolley.
- Dismantling and numbering: anything that needs it comes apart, parts are numbered and screws are bagged and labelled.
- Wrapping: each piece is wrapped to suit it and carried out carefully.
- Loading and securing: the bed is arranged, straps tightened and checked again once we are moving.
- Unloading and assembly: pieces go up to the new home, are reassembled and placed where you want them.
- Final check: we go through the pieces with you one by one before leaving.
Materials, movers and equipment
The movers are men used to upper floors and tight corridors, and they share the work by weight rather than headcount: a heavy wardrobe takes two, a sofa takes two, and a dining chair needs only one.
Furniture transport prices by dabab
The price depends on what you move, the distance, the floor and whether pieces need dismantling. These are starting prices, and the final price is confirmed before loading:
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| A piece of furniture within the district | from SAR 65 |
| A room between neighbouring districts | from SAR 110 |
| A north-to-south Jeddah move | from SAR 185 |
| Small wanet for a load bigger than a dabab | from SAR 140 |
| Medium wanet | from SAR 230 |
| Large wanet | from SAR 320 |
| Furniture dismantling and assembly | Set by the pieces; ask for an itemised quote |
| Makkah and Taif trips | Set by load and destination |
What raises the price: distance, a high floor with no lift, many pieces, heavy or delicate pieces, and dismantling. What lowers it: combining pieces into one trip, having cartons ready, and sending photos so we can estimate correctly the first time. More on our Jeddah dabab prices page.
Placing furniture at the new home
A move does not end with unloading at the door. Before we carry anything in, we ask where each piece goes. We start with the large pieces that are hard to shift later, wardrobes and beds, then the dining set, then lighter furniture, and we lay a blanket down first so the floor or marble is not scratched.

Anything we dismantled goes back together on the spot, so you can sleep in your own bed on the first night without waiting for another appointment.
Tips and common mistakes
How to pick the right service: questions to ask before booking
Price matters, but what the price includes matters more. Ask whoever you hire:
- Are wrapping, dismantling and assembly in the price, or charged later?
- Is a dabab enough for my load, or do I need a wanet, and will you say so honestly?
- Is the price final before loading, or does it change after the move?
- How do you handle a high floor with no lift?
- Can you make the time I need, including the same day?
- What happens if I have more pieces than I mentioned?
We answer all of these before loading, not after, and that is part of how we work.

Frequently asked questions
Does a dabab fit a whole bedroom?
In most cases yes. A dabab carries an ordinary bedroom with a bed, wardrobe, dresser and two bedside tables once the large pieces are dismantled and loaded sensibly. A very big wardrobe plus a majlis is better in a wanet, and we say so plainly on the phone.
How much does furniture transport by dabab cost in Jeddah?
A single piece within a district starts from SAR 45, a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110, and a north-to-south Jeddah move from SAR 185. We give you the final price before loading.
Do you wrap the furniture yourselves?
Yes. We use blankets, stretch film and cardboard corners before loading and strap everything down inside the bed, so you do not have to prepare any materials.
Can you move furniture from a high floor with no lift?
Yes. The movers carry pieces down the stairs by hand and with a trolley where it helps. Time and price vary with the floor and the size of the pieces, so mention the floor when booking.
Do I need to dismantle the wardrobe or bed first?
Anything that will not pass the door, the lift or the stairwell needs dismantling; large wardrobes and wooden beds are the usual cases. We dismantle, number the parts and reassemble at the new home, priced by the number of pieces.
Do you move furniture from Jeddah to Makkah and Taif?
Yes, with advance booking. The trip is priced by load and destination, so ask for a trip quote and send us your list of pieces.
How do you carry marble and glass?
We wrap the top in blankets and cardboard, carry it upright on its edge against the side of the bed, strap it down and put nothing on top. Tell us about these pieces in advance so we bring what they need.
Can the dabab come the same day?
Often yes, because the service runs 24 hours. Send your district and pieces on WhatsApp 0544866865 and we confirm the earliest slot.
Does the price change after loading?
No, as long as the pieces are as you described them. We agree the price before loading, and if you add pieces we tell you the difference before we start.
What if a piece is bigger than the door?
Measure the piece, the door and the lift before booking and send us the sizes. The answer is usually dismantling or, in some buildings, lowering it from a balcony, and we advise on the safest way.
