Not sure whether a dabab, a wanet or a dyna suits your move in Jeddah? This guide compares all three by load, access and price, showing when a dabab is enough, when you need a wanet from SAR 140, and when a whole home needs a dyna.
Dabab vs wanet vs dyna in Jeddah is the first question to settle before you book, because the wrong vehicle costs you either empty space you pay for or a second trip you never planned. At Jeddah Dabab Express we work with the dabab and the wanet, and we tell you plainly when the small vehicle is enough and when you need the bigger one. Send your list or photos to 0544866865 by call or WhatsApp at any hour, and we suggest the most economical vehicle before we quote.
The mistake we see most is choosing a vehicle out of worry rather than by load. Some people order a dyna for a single bedroom just in case, and pay several times what they need for a half-empty bed. Others do the opposite and order a dabab for a three-bedroom flat, so the move becomes four trips and the whole day goes in driving back and forth. The rule is simple: choose by what you are really moving, and if you sit on the line between two vehicles, price both.
- One or two pieces or one room: dabab, from from SAR 65 for a piece in your district.
- Two rooms, a room with a majlis or long pieces: wanet, small from from SAR 140.
- A small two-bedroom flat: large wanet from SAR 320, usually in one trip.
- A large flat or villa: dyna, priced by load.
- A narrow lane or old entrance: the dabab reaches the door where trucks cannot.

Meet the three vehicles
People in Jeddah call moving vehicles by everyday names that can confuse newcomers, so let us define each one simply, without weights and specifications that vary from one vehicle to the next.
The dabab
The dabab is a small pickup with a driver’s cab and an open rear bed. Its great strength is agility: it enters narrow lanes, stops at the building door in older and popular districts, moves quickly through traffic and is usually available the same day. It suits a single piece, a dismantled bedroom, a sofa set, purchases from a showroom or a trip with several stops. Details of the service are on dabab furniture moving in Jeddah.
The wanet
The wanet is larger than the dabab, with a longer and wider bed, and it is the middle ground between the dabab and a truck. It suits two rooms, a room with a majlis, a small flat, or a load with long pieces such as a large sofa or tall wardrobe doors. We offer it in three sizes: small from SAR 140, medium from SAR 230 and large from SAR 320. Details are on wanet furniture moving in Jeddah.
The dyna
The dyna is a medium truck with a large bed and high sides, and it is what a whole home, villa or large office needs in one or two trips. Its strength is capacity; its weakness is access. It cannot enter many lanes, needs room to park and must be booked in advance. It is priced by load, so ask for a quote.
The full comparison table
| Criterion | Dabab | Wanet | Dyna |
|---|---|---|---|
| Size | Small | Medium | Large |
| Best load | A piece to one room | Two rooms to a small flat | Large flat or villa |
| Narrow-lane access | Excellent | Good on most streets | Limited |
| Parking at the door | Usually possible | In most districts | Needs space |
| Availability | Usually same day | Short-notice booking | Advance booking |
| Starting price | from SAR 65 | from SAR 140 | Ask for a quote |
| Errands and deliveries | Best fit | For larger loads | Not practical |
Sizes and loads are approximate; the real size of your pieces decides.
Notice the table never says one vehicle is better than another across the board. Each has its place, and the right question is not “Which is best?” but “Which suits my load, my entrance and my distance?” The dabab that shines in an Al Balad lane may be a poor choice for an Obhur villa, and the dyna that moves the villa in one trip may not get anywhere near a house in Al Hindawiyah.
Quick decision table by load
If you want an answer in seconds, find your load in this table. It is based on what we see in everyday Jeddah moves and gives you a starting point before you call.
| What you are moving | Best vehicle | Note |
|---|---|---|
| One piece or a showroom delivery | Dabab | Nothing bigger needed |
| One bedroom | Dabab | After the bed and wardrobe are dismantled |
| A bedroom and a majlis | Dabab in two trips or a medium wanet | Price both |
| A small two-bedroom flat | Large wanet | Usually one trip |
| A three-bedroom flat | Dyna | Or a large wanet in two trips |
| A whole villa | Dyna or more than one vehicle | Its own quote |
| A trip with several stops | Dabab | Fastest in traffic |
When does the dabab have no rival?
Some cases leave nothing close to the dabab, and the first is a narrow entrance. The old buildings of Al Balad, Al Nuzlah, Al Hindawiyah and Al Kandarah, and the inner lanes of popular districts, do not let a truck manoeuvre. When a dyna parks on the main road, the crew carries every piece a long way on foot, which takes longer and raises the chance of scratches and fatigue. The dabab drives in and stops at the door, and all of that disappears.

For deliveries in particular you may wonder whether to rely on the store’s own delivery or book a dabab. That question has its own guide, store delivery or dabab in Jeddah, and the service itself is on delivery dabab in Jeddah.
When does a wanet or dyna become cheaper?
The dabab is not the answer to everything, and we are the first to say so. When the load is clearly bigger than its bed, insisting on it means several trips, and every trip means loading, strapping, driving and unloading again. Here a wanet saves time and money, especially over a long distance such as Obhur to Al Safa or Al Shati to Al Balad. Long pieces, like a large three-seat sofa in one piece or a big mattress, need a longer bed than the dabab’s to travel safely.
The dyna belongs to the whole home. A three-bedroom flat with a majlis, dining set, kitchen and appliances takes a full day of dabab trips, two or three wanet trips, or one or two dyna trips. The deciding factor is not only size but time: the fewer the trips, the less your furniture is loaded and unloaded, and the earlier you finish. For a plan to move a whole flat in a day, see our guide to moving a flat in one day.

Which is cheaper: two dabab trips or one wanet trip?
This is the case we are asked about most, and the answer depends on distance. The method is simple: multiply the dabab trip price by the trips you need and compare the result with the right wanet. Then add something the figures do not show: your own time. Two trips mean longer waiting, coordinating with the building guard twice, and parking twice.
| Case | Two dabab trips | One wanet trip | Usually cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| A room and a majlis within one district | Two trips, each from SAR 65 upward | Medium wanet from SAR 230 | Dabab |
| A room and a majlis between neighbouring districts | Two trips, each from SAR 110 | Medium wanet from SAR 230 | Close; we work it out with you |
| A room and a majlis north to south | Two trips, each from SAR 185 | Medium wanet from SAR 230 | Wanet |
| A small two-bedroom flat | Three or more trips | Large wanet from SAR 320 | Wanet |
Starting prices for comparison; the final price follows the items and floor.
Combining two vehicles on one move
The choice is not always one of three. On some moves the smartest answer is a mix: a wanet for most of the load and a dabab for what is left instead of a second wanet trip, or a dyna parked on the main road with a dabab shuttling from it to the house through a narrow lane in an old district. This mix is common in Al Balad and the districts around it, where the main road is wide and the inner lanes are tight.
Questions to ask before you choose
- How many large pieces do I have, and are there long pieces that do not come apart, like a one-piece sofa?
- Is my entrance on a wide street or a narrow lane, and where can the vehicle stop?
- Which floor are both homes on, and is there a lift big enough for the large pieces?
- How far apart are the homes: same district, neighbouring districts, or end to end of the city?
- Am I in a hurry, or can I wait a day or two to book a bigger vehicle?
- Does the trip price include loading, unloading, stairs and padding?
If the building has no lift, the vehicle choice is affected too, because stair time makes the number of trips matter more. See our guide to moving without a lift, and for how the full price is built, our furniture moving cost guide.
Mistakes in choosing a vehicle
- Bigger just in case: you pay for a half-empty bed.
- Smaller to save: the move turns into many trips that eat the day.
- Forgetting the entrance: the truck arrives and cannot enter the lane.
- Ignoring long pieces: a one-piece sofa will not fit the dabab and waits for the second trip.
- Not mentioning appliances: a large fridge takes more room than you expect because it travels upright.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a dabab, a wanet and a dyna?
The dabab is the smallest, a small pickup with an open bed for single pieces and one room that enters narrow lanes. The wanet is a little larger and suits two rooms or a small flat, and the dyna is a medium truck for a whole home or villa.
Are two dabab trips cheaper than one wanet trip?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Over a short distance with a load just over one dabab, two trips may be cheaper; over a long distance a medium wanet from SAR 230 usually wins. We price both before you book.
When is a dabab enough for a move?
For one or two pieces, a dismantled bedroom, a sofa set or about twenty cartons. One piece inside the district starts from SAR 45, and a room between neighbouring districts from SAR 110.
When do I need a wanet instead of a dabab?
When the load is two rooms or a room with a majlis, or has long pieces the dabab bed cannot hold. A small wanet starts from SAR 140, a medium from SAR 230 and a large from SAR 320.
When is a dyna necessary?
For a flat of three bedrooms or more or a whole villa, when the load needs more than two wanet trips. It is priced by load, so ask for a quote.
Why is the dabab better in old districts?
Because it is small enough to enter the narrow lanes of Al Balad, Al Hindawiyah and Al Nuzlah and stop at the door, while a truck has to park far away, lengthening the carrying and the risk of scratches.
Should I book a bigger vehicle just in case?
No, you would pay for empty space. Send your list or photos and we suggest the right vehicle; if the load is bigger than a dabab we tell you plainly.
Can a dabab and a wanet be combined on one move?
Yes. It happens when most of the load fits a wanet and a few pieces remain, or when the home is reached through a narrow lane only a dabab can enter.
Do all three go to Makkah and Taif?
Yes, with advance booking, priced by load and destination, so ask for a trip quote.
