Furniture dismantling and assembly in Jeddah before and after your move: bedrooms, sliding wardrobes, desks, beds and flat-pack units. We photograph and number parts and bag the screws; pricing is by the pieces, so ask for an itemised quote.
Furniture dismantling and assembly in Jeddah is the difference between a move where your wardrobe arrives intact and goes back together, and one where you find loose panels and bags of screws and cannot tell which belongs where. Jeddah Dabab Express takes apart what needs it, photographs and numbers it, bags the screws, then rebuilds it in its new place. We carry everything by dabab, a compact pickup truck with an open rear bed. Call or message us on 0544866865 at any hour with your list of pieces and the floor.
The hard part of dismantling is not undoing the screws, since any worker can do that. The hard part is getting back: knowing where each panel sat, which screw fits which hole and how the doors hung. So our work rests on documenting everything before the first screwdriver turns.
- We dismantle wardrobes, beds, desks and flat-pack units that will not pass the door or lift.
- We photograph the piece first, number the parts and put the screws of each part in a sealed, labelled bag.
- At the new home we rebuild in the original order and check firmness with you.
- Priced by the number of pieces, so ask for an itemised quote before we start.
- We tell you honestly what cannot be dismantled and what may not survive another dismantling.

What the service is, and when you need it
The service means a specialised team takes apart furniture that cannot be moved whole, then rebuilds it at the new place so it comes back as it was. It is not needed for every piece: a chair, a small table or a bedside unit usually travels as it is, but it is essential for large wardrobes, beds and long desks.
It also helps in cases other than moving: rearranging a room, shifting a wardrobe to another room, or putting together a new piece you bought flat-packed in cartons without knowing where to begin. We arrive with the tools and the know-how for all kinds of joints and screws, so you do not tire yourself or scratch the piece.
| Piece | Needs dismantling? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Large wooden bed | Usually yes | The frame comes apart and is numbered |
| Four-door wardrobe | Yes | Essential if it will not go into the lift |
| Sliding wardrobe | Yes | Doors and tracks come off and are adjusted again |
| Long desk | Depends on the door | Drawers are removed and carried separately |
| Dresser with mirror | The mirror alone | Separated and protected with cardboard |
| Modular sofa | Sometimes | Legs and arms are separated |
| Chair or small table | Usually not | Moved as it is |
The furniture we dismantle and assemble
Bedrooms and beds
The bedroom is where dismantling is requested most. A wooden bed comes apart into headboard, footboard, side rails and legs; the dresser loses its mirror; bedside tables may stay assembled if they pass the door. We protect the wood edges after dismantling because they are exposed, and carry long parts at an angle that does not harm them.
Ordinary and sliding wardrobes
A large wardrobe comes apart from top to feet: doors first, then shelves and drawers, then the sides and the back. For a sliding one, we lift the doors gently from their tracks and keep the wheels and runners, because one lost small wheel can jam a door. At assembly we adjust the doors so they glide smoothly and do not touch each other.
Small kitchens
We take apart freestanding units fixed with screws and move them with their shelves and doors, such as a side cabinet or a drawer unit. In fairness, we do not dismantle kitchens built into the walls or needing a carpenter, plumber and electrician, and we say so on the first call.
Flat-pack board furniture
This type relies on precise holes and special screws. It can be taken apart and rebuilt, but each time the holes wear a little. So we dismantle it with great care, use only the original screws, and tell you if a piece is old and may not tolerate another assembly.
Desks
A home desk or small office desk is emptied, its drawers and shelves are taken off and we decide whether its legs come off. For an office with many units, read our page on office and shop relocation in Jeddah.
Our numbering, photo and screw-bag system
This is the heart of the service. Before we take anything apart we photograph every side of the piece and the fine details, such as where the hinges sit, the order of the shelves and how the doors join the frame. Those photos are our reference at assembly, and you can keep a copy.

- Photos: before and during dismantling, of every side and detail.
- Numbering: a number on each panel with tape that leaves no mark, plus a code for the room or piece.
- Bags: all the screws for a piece in a sealed bag, taped to the panel it belongs to or a suitable side.
- Small parts: wheels, hinges and handles gathered in a box with the piece written on it.
- Long parts: tied together and covered so they do not scatter.
The tools we use
How to prepare the pieces before we arrive
A little preparation from you saves time and lowers cost, and needs no tools or know-how. All that matters is making the piece ready for dismantling and giving us a clear picture of what to expect.
- Empty wardrobes and drawers of clothes and belongings, since contents press on the panels and slow the work.
- Take down curtains, pictures and mirrors hung on or beside the piece.
- Clear space around the piece so the movers can work freely, and move small rugs aside.
- Photograph the piece from several sides and send the photos on WhatsApp with the door and lift sizes.
- Say if the piece is old or has been taken apart and rebuilt several times, since that changes how we handle it.
- Keep the new place clean and tell us where each piece should go.
And do not worry if you cannot do any of this; we start with what is there and organise the rest ourselves.
Example: a bedroom from dismantling to assembly
To picture how it goes, take a bedroom in a flat in Al Rawdah moving to a flat in Al Safa. The team arrives and photographs the sliding wardrobe, the bed and the dresser, then starts with the wardrobe: it takes off the doors and numbers them, undoes the shelves and sides, and puts the screws in taped, labelled bags. Next comes the bed, its rails and legs, then the dresser and its mirror.
The panels are wrapped in blankets and film, loaded onto the dabab so they do not rub against each other, and carried into the new flat in the order that suits assembly: the wardrobe first because it is the heaviest and trickiest, then the bed, then the dresser. After assembly the movers adjust the sliding doors and try them with you, and the visit ends with a room you can sleep in without waiting.
If the move covers a whole flat, we may suggest the bedroom goes by dabab and the rest of the furniture by wanet, depending on the sizes, and we tell you before we set off, not after.
Order of dismantling and order of assembly
Every piece has an order, and getting it wrong means a twisted piece. The general rule is to take apart what goes back last and to rebuild what came off first. Doors, drawers and movable shelves come off before the sides, the sides before the main frame, and the back, held by fine screws, last.
- Empty the piece and take out drawers and movable shelves.
- Photograph every side and the inside.
- Remove doors and drawers, number them and keep their hinges.
- Take out inner shelves, then the sides.
- Dismantle the frame according to how it is joined, by screws or wooden dowels.
- Put the screws of each part in its own bag and tape it to that part.
- Wrap with blankets and film and move the parts.
- Assemble in reverse: frame, sides, shelves, then doors and drawers, checking that it is level.

At assembly we begin with the large pieces that are hard to shift once complete, wardrobes and beds, setting them where you chose on a blanket so the floor is not scratched. Then we adjust them to level and try each door and drawer one by one.
What can and cannot be dismantled
| Type of piece | Can it be dismantled? | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Wooden beds with screws | Yes | Carefully, to protect the holes |
| Wardrobes with screws and doors | Yes | Order of dismantling matters |
| Sliding wardrobes | Yes | Tracks adjusted at assembly |
| Flat-pack board furniture | Yes, with care | May not take repeated assembly |
| Glued or bonded pieces | Not advised | Dismantling ruins them |
| Kitchens built into the wall | Not by us | Need a carpenter and technicians |
| Old, fragile pieces | Depends on condition | We give our view before starting |
We prefer to be frank before opening a piece that may not go back as it was. Some old or glued pieces are better moved whole where possible, or left where they are if moving them costs more than they are worth.
Dismantling on upper floors
In Jeddah buildings with no lift, dismantling is the best moving solution. Dismantled parts are lighter and slimmer, and turn more easily on narrow stair landings than a whole wardrobe knocking against the walls. We ask about the floor, stair width and door sizes before arriving, to decide what comes apart and what travels as it is.
Separate panels also ease the strain on the movers, which lowers the risk of injury to people, furniture and walls. They also cut the number of trips on the stairs because parts are carried one after another instead of waiting on a single heavy piece.
Dismantling and assembly pricing
We price dismantling and assembly by the number and type of pieces, because a simple bed is far from a sliding wardrobe with a dresser. We do not give you a vague blanket figure; we ask for the list of pieces or photos and give you an itemised quote, so you know the cost of each piece before we begin.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Furniture dismantling and assembly | Set by the pieces; ask for an itemised quote |
| Split AC dismantle, move and reinstall | from SAR 230 |
| One piece moved within the district | from SAR 65 |
| A room between neighbouring districts | from SAR 110 |
| A north-to-south Jeddah move | from SAR 185 |
| Small wanet | from SAR 140 |
| Medium wanet | from SAR 230 |
| Large wanet | from SAR 320 |
What raises the cost: many pieces, complex sliding wardrobes, a high floor with no lift and the age of the piece. What lowers it: emptying drawers before we arrive, sending photos and combining dismantling and moving into one appointment. For general prices see Jeddah dabab prices, and for the clearest low price read cheapest dabab furniture moving in Jeddah.
How long does it take?
We do not give a binding figure because the time changes with the number, type and condition of the pieces and the floor. A simple bed is much quicker than a whole bedroom with a sliding wardrobe, and new flat-pack is easier than an old wooden cabinet. When you describe the pieces we give you a general idea, and we start early so that important pieces, like the bedroom, are finished first.

Frequently asked questions
How much does furniture dismantling and assembly cost in Jeddah?
It is set by the number and type of pieces: a simple bed is not a four-door wardrobe. So we ask for the list of pieces or photos and give you an itemised quote before we start.
Do you dismantle sliding-door wardrobes?
Yes. We take off the sliding doors, tracks and shelves, number and protect them, then rebuild and adjust the movement at the new place.
Must furniture always be dismantled before moving?
No. Small, light pieces travel assembled. We dismantle what will not pass the door, lift or stairwell, and what carrying assembled would weaken. Everything else stays as it is.
What if a screw or small part goes missing?
That is why every piece gets its screws in a sealed bag taped to it or its panel. If something is short we tell you and find a matching replacement of the same size.
Do you dismantle flat-pack furniture?
Yes, though it sometimes cannot take repeated dismantling because its holes and special screws wear. We tell you plainly before starting if a piece will be affected.
Do you dismantle kitchens?
We take apart small, freestanding screwed units. Kitchens fixed into the wall or needing a carpenter are not dismantled by us, and we say so in advance.
Do you reassemble pieces in the new home?
Yes. Assembly in the new room is part of the service for what we took apart. We place pieces where you choose and check they are firm with you.
How long do dismantling and assembly take?
It varies with the number and type of pieces: a simple bed is much quicker than a bedroom with a sliding wardrobe and a dresser. We give you a general idea when you describe the pieces.
Do you dismantle on upper floors with no lift?
Yes, and it is the best approach there, since dismantled parts are lighter and pass the stairs more easily. Mention the floor when booking.
Does the price change during the job?
No, as long as the pieces are as you described them. If extra pieces appear we tell you the difference before starting on them.
